Hi. Big up to those 'believers' who dropped the dub bomb at the Cafe the other night. A magnificent tribute to the music that is truly the foundation of ALL of today's bass inspired dance music (read hiphop, techno, trance, jungle etc).
ALL of it owes its existence to some extraordinary jamaicans who working with the most basic equipment produced a mesmerising form of music that reverberates (in every sense of the word) to today. The musicians truly 'get' the form and their local productions are as good as the stuff that rumbles the dancehalls in Ja (or did during the golden era of the 70's and 80's).
Again big up to you all and PLEASE, PLEASE do it again. As the deejays say, 'Pull up selector...sounds so nice, gotta play it twice'
Cool runnings,
Mike
